Meaning ‘in every generation’, B'chol dor va’dor teaches that in every generation an individual should look upon themselves as if they personally had left Egypt and had themselves experienced the exodus from slavery to liberation. It is not considered enough to recall the deliverance of the Jewish people in ancient Egypt in some abstract sense, but each person is responsible for viewing Passover as a time to commemorate their own personal deliverance.
